This year we are celebrating World Youth Day in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. Gathering thousands of young people from around the world, this is a unique event that takes place every three years, welcoming those who seek to participate in a joyous gathering centered around Jesus Christ.
This event provides a chance for deepening one’s connection with our faith prayer, in the company of hundreds of thousands of like-minded youth who share similar interests and aspirations.
This year, SIGNIS partnered with MAGIS to provide a one-of-a-kind experience ahead of all the activities that surround WYD. MAGIS is a significant event organized by the Society of Jesus for young adults from the Ignatian Family, and it’s taking place in Coimbra. The gathering aims to create a space for young people to deepen their faith, engage in service, and build an international community focused on prayer and personal transformation.
For ten days, participants will pray, live and work together in an international community with a specific mission: discover together how they can build God’s Church with their differences and peculiarities, their gifts and desires; they will let themselves be transformed by their lived experience with others, in service to life and to those most in need.
This series of events has been created alongside SIGNIS and TMB Lab, Take Me Backers laboratory of apostolic innovation, with the participation of our very own SIGNIS Youth members Kike Delgado (México), Sandra Real (Mexico), and Solange Didiego (Argentina).
For those attending MAGIS 2023 in Lisbon, it’s an opportunity to be part of a special and transformative experience in the company of like-minded individuals from diverse backgrounds, united by their shared faith and commitment to making a positive impact in the world.
