(Terni Film Festival) The SIGNIS Jury awarded its Prize to the film Mother of Apostles (Maty apostoliv) directed by Zaza Buadze (Georgia, 2020).
Mother of Apostles is a topical and universal story of maternal love that becomes a redeeming force in the midst of military conflict. Love and determination transform those Sofia meets and reveal the emptiness of destructive violence in the face of the fullness of forgiveness and sacrifice revealed by the Gospel.
The Jury has also decided to award a Commendation to the documentary film L’uomo delle chiavi, sulla vecchiaia directed by Matteo Sandrini (Italy, 2020). This luminous film traces the lucid reasoning of a man in the fullness of age, a philosopher and an artist who radiates the joy of living and seeks the keys to a dignified, creative and benevolent old age.
The members of the Jury were Chantal Laroche Poupard, President (France), Florin-Ioan Silaghi (Romania), and Marek Lis (Poland).
