(Pontifical University of the Holy Cross). As part of the activities organized for its 25th anniversary (1996-2021), the School of Church Communications has prepared the free online course (MOOC) on the Institutional Communication of the Church: Management, Relations and Digital Strategy.
The purpose of the course is to provide basic knowledge – so, it is for people who are not necessarily specialists – on the communication of Church institutions, from the competencies of the Communications Director to departmental strategies, from management to interaction, with external audiences, including media relations, as well as a focus on the presence of Church institutions in social networks.
Target groups include, among others, volunteers in parishes and non-profit organizations, collaborators of dioceses or other ecclesial institutions, seminary rectors and superiors with managerial duties, the alumni of the Faculty of Communication as a continuing education activity, pastoral communication workers, and potential students interested in Institutional Communications.
It is already possible to register for the course, which is available in English, Italian and Spanish. The course, free of charge, will begin on September 13, 2021. It will be divided into 4 modules, which will be activated weekly (September 13, 20, 27 and October 4). The activities can be followed at any time of the day and will require an approximate commitment of 2-3 hours per week.
To enrol, one must open an account on the teaching platform Discere-On demand in use at the University, from which you can then access the course in your preferred language: https://discere-ondemand.pusc.it/.
