Archdiocese and Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro validate the realization of the SIGNIS Global Youth Forum 2025

The Archdiocese of San Sebastian of Rio de Janeiro and the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) have endorsed the celebration of the SIGNIS 2025 Global Youth Forum, scheduled for the first days of October 2025. This event will bring together young communicator leaders from around the world to discuss issues of paramount importance for the future of the global community.

The President of SIGNIS Latin America and the Caribbean, Carlos Ferraro, informed that both the Cardinal of Rio de Janeiro, D. Orani João Tempesta, and the Rector of PUC-Rio, Dr. Anderson Antonio Pedroso, SJ, validated the realization of the Global Youth Forum 2025.

Arnaldo Rodrigues, Communication Advisor of the Brazilian Episcopal Conference, will be a key player in the realization of this global event, which will mark a path of participation and linkage of young lay communicators and SIGNIS youth structures with a view to the SIGNIS World Congress 2026, to be held in Kigali, Rwanda.

PUC-Rio would provide its facilities for academic activities and debates. The forum, organized by SIGNIS-ALC, will address topics such as geopolitics, social and environmental transformation, artificial intelligence, climate crisis, education, employment, mental health, and the future of global communications.

PUC-Rio is one of the most prestigious universities on the continent and the first private institution of higher education in Brazil. It was founded in 1940 by Cardinal D. Sebastião Leme and Fr. Leonel Franca S.J.

The participation of the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro and PUC-Rio reinforces SIGNIS’ commitment to creating an inclusive space that promotes mutual understanding and collective action for more ethical and responsible communication.
